iPad 2 Jailbreak to Cost Money?

If and when the iPad 2 finally gets jailbroken, the jailbreak might cost something for those who want to unlock their tablet computer. After countless hours and hours of trying to bypass the iPad 2’s security system, though, can you blame the hackers who eventually jailbreak it for wanting compensation for their time?
“i0n1c, a hacker currently working on jailbreaking the iPad 2 has suggested in a tweet that the jailbreak tool might cost money,” writes Radu Tyrsina for ITProPortal in a Monday post.
Currently, nobody knows for sure who is trying to jailbreak the tablet and who has given up on the device. It was released in January and unlocked two days later, but this jailbreak hasn’t been made available to the public. The fact that no hacker has been able to figure out the iPad 2 is interesting, since jailbreaks are usually rolled out within days of their respective devices arriving on shelves.
“The rumors are that the iPhone Dev Team and also Geohot are currently trying to create a public jailbreaking tool for the iPhone 2…” says Tyrsina. “It is still a mystery whether hackers currently working on the iPad 2 jailbreaking will launch their jailbreaking tool before or after iOS 5 and iPhone 5 have been released.”
