Bored with your iPad? Want to see if the computer tablets are greener on the other side? Earlier this week, an article posted iDownloadBlog’s Jeff detailed a jailbreak that simulates the HP TouchPad’s webOS platform on iDevices. Now, he writes about a jailbreak that can effectively turn the iPad into the Android-based Motorola XOOM, HTC Flyer or Asus Eee Pad.
“Looking to add a bit of Android flair to your iPad? If you’re a DreamBoard connoisseur, then you’ve likely already stumbled upon HoneyPad, the theme that can turn your iPad into …

Just like the iPhone 5 is rumored to be much thinner and lighter than its predecessors, Apple’s iPad 3 is reportedly going to be a slimmer alternative to the iPad and iPad 2.
“The battery in the iPad 3 will reportedly be thinner and lighter than the one in the iPad 2, suggesting that the new tablet may also see a thinner, lighter design or other improvements,” writes Lance Whitney for CNET. “The new battery will not only be thinner and lighter but offer a longer life than the iPad 2′s …

For the select group of Apple customers who have jailbroken their second-generation Apple TV, FireCore recently announced an upgrade to its pre-release aTV Flash (black) software, which runs on the digital media receivers. The seventh beta, only available for jailbroken devices, incorporates a music player, cloud backup feature and a slideshow function.
“The Media Player now features a music player, which allows users to stream music files from a computer without using iTunes. Information on streamed tracks will be downloaded from Last.fm automatically, which is a handy feature, and the music …

In a recent article for Jailbreak Nation, the site’s Gregory profiles not one, not two but three jailbreak tweaks you can use to switch things up on your iDevice. While the writer says that FodlerIcons improves on the similar BeautiFolders, he maintains that CardSwitcher is buggy but has potential and QuitUnexpectedly costs a little too much for what little it actually does.
FolderIcons, which is available to download for free, spices up iOS’ folder function. “Firstly, the example icon that was given for FolderIcons was amazing. The example icon made a …

The good news: Facebook has given a major facelift to its iPhone application, adding several new features and updating the app’s design. The bad news: the jailbreak that allowed iPad owners to use Facebook on their computer tablet has been rendered useless, as all traces of the hidden iPad app have been removed.
“Version 3.5 sports a redesigned look for Profiles and Group walls that falls in line with Facebook’s recent changes on the web. Users can now tag friends in places and posts, and share external links. Facebook has also …

In a recent post for Jailbreak Nation, the site’s Gregory lists three of his favorite recently-released jailbreak tweaks: Multiwall, BeautiFolders and Magnifier For Safari.
As the writer explains, Multiwall allows iOS users to install different winterboard themes for each page of their home screen, and unlike other similar tweaks, incorporates wallpapers.
Meanwhile, “We have had a lot of theming with wallpaper and the actually UI itself, but what about folders? BeautiFolders brings the first, independent, and outstanding theme platform for your iOS 4 folders. This one has a lot of potential also …

According to an Apple insider, the company has begun training its retail store employees on the upcoming iOS 5 and iCloud releases. As Mark Gurman at 9to5Mac writes, this could mean that Apple plans to debut the iPhone 5 before many popular projections.
“Apple typically rolls out their major iOS releases in the days surrounding new iPhone launches. Apple Stores usually only begin their training of new software in the couple of weeks leading up to a respective product launch (obviously this time around could be different, though),” Gurman notes. “Apple …

With new Cydia download iRepo, jailbreakers everywhere can create their own Cydia repositories and share custom packages with other hackers. As Alex writes on iDownloadBlog, the application makes the process simple and accessible.
“While larger repos, like BigBoss, index hundreds and hundreds of Cydia packages for users to install, many smaller repos can tend to clutter up the Cydia experience,” Alex writes. “If you’re interested in creating an independent repo of your favorite tweaks, or hosting your own packages in Cydia, there’s an easy way to create your very own Cydia …

Just because JailbreakMe 3.0 developer Nicholas Allegra (a.k.a. Comex) is now working for Apple doesn’t mean the company is anymore a fan of his creation. Apple recently blocked the popular jailbreak tool’s website from being accessed on devices connected to its in-store networks.
“After the release of jailbreakme.com for iOS 4.3.3 Apple Stores everywhere were having problems with iDevices being jailbroken by customers. Recently though Apple has brought a stop to this problem by blocking jailbreakme.com completely,” writes Jailbreak Nation’s Johnny in an article posted Monday. “Any device that is connected …
